The Colorado Rapids will have their sights set on first place in the Western Conference when they host Toronto FC on Saturday.

Colorado (12-4-8, 44 points) is two points behind first-place Sporting Kansas City and one back of the second-place Seattle Sounders. Those two clubs will square off on Sunday.

The Rapids head into the match unbeaten in their last 10, going 5-0-5 during that stretch -- the longest active streak of its kind in MLS. Each of their past three decisions have been draws.

Colorado hasn't lost since July 24 at Real Salt Lake, and hasn't lost at home since April 24 -- their only home loss this season.

Despite facing a Toronto side that has spent most of the season in or near last place overall, Colorado isn't taking them lightly.

"When you look at their record, it's easy to go 'Ah, that team's no good,'" said head coach Robin Fraser, a former assistant coach with Toronto. "But I know that team really well and I know how good they are, and I know that on any given day they can be that good. They present a very, very real threat and a very good team that we have to beat."

Toronto (4-15-6, 18 points) will be looking to build off a win against Nashville SC last Saturday in its most recent MLS action. The win snapped the Reds' six-game losing streak and nine-game winless streak.

The club followed that up with a clean sheet against York FC in Canadian Championship play on Wednesday, scoring four goals -- a season high across all competitions.

"The hope is that we take pride in these results the last couple of games and before that with the performance we put in the Miami game, the heart that we showed that game," goalkeeper Alex Bono said. "We can't control anything that's already happened, but we can control what happens for the rest of it."

It's the first meeting between the two sides since Sept. 15, 2019, which ended in a 3-2 win for Toronto.
