Quick Hits on the Titans After Wednesday's Practice

NASHVILLEThe Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday to ramp up preparations for Sunday's season opener against the Denver Broncos.

Here's a look at the developments from the day:

-Titans quarterback Cam Ward is just days away from making his NFL debut.

His mission is simple:

"Win a lot of football games," Ward said on Wednesday. "Last year we were the worst team in the league, and this year we are trying to flip that around. My goal is to win games, and I think winning takes care of everything."

Ward knows the challenge against the Broncos.

"They are very sound," Ward said of Denver's defense. "They are not going to beat themselves, have a very good defense. They do a lot of different things up front and coverage wise that you have to be ready for. At the end of the day we have to make plays in the running game, and I have to put the ball on our playmakers' hands and let those guys make plays for us."

-The Titans will release their first Injury Report of the season on Wednesday.

Left tackle Dan Moore did not practice because of an ankle injury.

Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, center Lloyd Cushenberry, tackle JC Latham and defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat all practiced.

-The Titans named Cedric Gray the team's starting inside linebacker alongside Cody Barton.

Gray said he's ready to do his job, and is happy to be a starter.

Here's Gray in the locker room on Wednesday:

-The Titans signed veteran linebacker Kyzir White to the team's practice squad on Wednesday.

White, who played previously with the Chargers (2018-2021), Eagles (2022) and Cardinals (2023-2024), is now aiming to get up to speed as quickly as possible.

Here's White in the locker room today:

-Sunday will be a homecoming of sorts for Titans rookie tight end Gunnar Helm.

Helm is from Englewood, Colorado, and he grew up a Broncos fan.

Helm said he'll have family in the stands this weekend supporting him.

-If you missed this week's Britches Report, here it is:
