The Ravens have released safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson from their practice squad one week after signing him.

Baltimore signed Gardner-Johnson before trading for safety Alohi Gilman, who made seven tackles and played 73% of the Ravens' defensive snaps in his debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

With Gilman on board, Baltimore didn't have a clear path to playing time for Gardner-Johnson and it was an "amicable mutual decision" to part ways, according to his agent Kevin Conner, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In a corresponding move, Baltimore brought back nose tackle Josh Tupou to the practice squad. Tupou was previously released to sign Gardner-Johnson. He had three tackles against the Chiefs in Week 4 after being elevated to the gameday roster.
